Seminar description

Digitalization enables us to effectively collaborate with people who are located in different places. Whether via email, WhatsApp, Zoom, or Teams – leaders are increasingly communicating digitally (not just since the outbreak of the Corona pandemic) with their employees, colleagues, and supervisors; especially when they or their teams are working (partially) from home. This change in work and communication structures requires a changed leadership behavior. How can leaders manage employees and teams from a distance? How do you ensure effective communication and collaboration when you can no longer meet your employees and colleagues or only meet them rarely? How does the necessary team spirit develop then? How can employees and teams be developed? You will find answers to such questions in the seminar “Leading Employees and Teams from a Distance”.

Overview of content

  • What are the biggest dangers/challenges of leading at a distance, of leading virtual/hybrid teams?

  • What expectations do employees (in home office) have of their manager when leading at a distance?

  • How do we develop trust when leading at a distance and create the necessary commitment within the team?

  • How can we use electronic/social media for building and expanding relationships?

  • Using the different leadership styles adapted to the leadership and communication situation purposefully.

  • Supporting and developing employees (in home office) at a distance.

Learning objectives

  • You will learn what attitude and approach leaders need when managing employees/teams remotely.

  • You will experience how easy it is in the digital age to lead a virtual team or an individual from afar – as long as you have the right mindset for it.

  • You will learn how to support employee and team development even from a distance.

  • You will learn how other decision-makers/companies are overcoming the challenges of virtual employee/team leadership.

  • You will enhance your digital media skills and know which information and communication media are suitable for achieving which goals.

  • You will learn to build stable relationships with employees who work, for example, from home, at different locations, etc.
