New Leadership Aspiration 2026
Between Algorithm and Empathy
For the study report "New Leadership Claim: Between Algorithm and Empathy", the IFIDZ and the frankfurter akademie evaluated 52 studies from a period of four years. The focus was on the questions:
How is leadership changing as a result of digitalization, AI, and an increasingly networked working world, and how can leaders effectively counter the associated continuous changes?
Which requirements will become particularly important for leaders in the future?
Where are the blind spots in the current leadership debate?
The analysis shows: Leadership is becoming more technological and, at the same time, more human. Communication proves to be the connecting element of almost all relevant leadership requirements. At the same time, the evaluation reveals blind spots: when it comes to AI, application and efficiency have dominated so far, while strategic depth is often lacking. Human responsibility in connection with technology is also still too little considered.
From the findings, the study report derives six central recommendations for future-proof leadership. They show what leaders and companies should focus on now in order to use technological opportunities intelligently while strengthening the genuinely human qualities of leadership.
