My new book “Leading with Alpha Intelligence” will be released – at the end of May!
March 6, 2025 – In recent months, I have invested a lot of time and heart into writing my new book “Leading with Alpha Intelligence: Ready for the Future World of Work.”
The manuscript is finally complete and has been approved by the publishing editors … and I am eagerly waiting for my book to be published in May by Haufe Verlag.
Changed conditions require “new” leadership
This ties in – as did my previous books – with the fact that our working world is currently undergoing rapid changes (just think of the terms AI and new world order), while our “old” brain still
clings to obsolete (thinking) structures and
tries to maintain at least the illusion of control in “chaotic” situations and constellations
– even in the area of management and leadership.
Leaders need partly new competencies
And this is despite the fact that we all have been feeling for years: The digital transformation, constant uncertainty, and the increasingly complex and unpredictable markets (or the “turn of the times,” as we often generally say) require
a new form of leadership and
new competencies among leaders (regardless of the areas in which they operate – whether in business, politics, etc.).
Alpha Intelligence – a possible solution?
What such future-oriented leadership could look like, I attempt to describe in my new book. In it, I connect the latest neuroscientific findings with current changes and challenges in management and leadership. Furthermore, I present a leadership concept under the term Alpha Intelligence® that I have developed and continuously refined over the past years as the head of the Institute for Leadership in the Digital Age (IFIDZ) with my team based on numerous leadership studies.
Goal: to become an alpha-intelligent leader
This innovative and integrative approach to leadership helps leaders to adequately fulfill their leadership role in our world marked by rapid change and decreasing predictability, as well as an increasingly hybrid work environment.
In doing so, I summarize under the term Alpha Intelligence® a total of 17 competency fields in which future so-called alpha-intelligent leaders must have defined strengths, so that they – among other things, due to their attitude and self-leadership as well as their ability to maintain the necessary positive outlook on the future and inner calm in the midst of uncertainty – have the required charisma to exert the desired and intended impact in their environment.
The five dimensions of alpha-intelligent leadership
In the Alpha Intelligence concept, I differentiate five essential facets or dimensions that will characterize successful leaders in the future:
Alpha Personality – Masters of Self-Leadership: Reflecting on oneself, leading authentically, and maintaining one's inner clarity even in turbulent times.
Alpha Relations – Architects of Relationships: Actively shaping trusting relationships and sustainable networks – both internally and externally.
Alpha Digitality – Virtuosos of the Digital World: Masterfully using digital tools, categorizing technological developments, and modeling a wise approach to AI & Co.
Alpha Resilience – Crisis Whisperers: Remaining stable in uncertainty and change, recognizing opportunities, radiating optimism, and emerging strengthened from crises.
Alpha Synergy – Cyborg of Collaboration: Making diversity productive, fostering collective intelligence, and understanding co-creation as a leadership task.
