Neural Leadership: The Art of Limitation: Your Brain Thanks You!
Neural Leadership: The Art of Limitation: Your Brain Thanks You!
September 01, 2024 – A new month begins, and I have a little "challenge" for you as a leader: How often do you find yourself overwhelmed by the flood of tasks and let everyday stress control you, instead of leading consciously? Probably more often than you would like!
Therefore, today I want to introduce you to the "LAN" rule, which is gaining importance in neuroscience and mindfulness practice.
This rule stands for
Limitation
Attention and
Neural Engagement
and it helps us to make optimal use of our brains:
Limitation: By consciously limiting the multitude of distractions, we give our brain the chance to focus on what is essential. This means: Eliminate distractions that do not provide real value!
Attention: Our attention is precious. When we focus on a few, but significant tasks, we not only increase our productivity but also the quality of our work.
Neural Engagement: This point is crucial. When our brain is fully able to engage in a task, we use our cognitive resources much more efficiently. This not only promotes our awareness but also our ability to find deeper insights and creative solutions.
So: Take it upon yourself this month to consciously do less, but to do what you do with full focus and engagement. Your brain will thank you for it – and so will your team.
Are you ready to apply the LAN rule this month … perhaps it will help you not just to survive in the hectic daily business, but to lead consciously and with focus?
